Baker • Wotring LLP partner David George has won an appeal in a legal-malpractice lawsuit. A dredging company sued its former attorneys, contending that the attorneys’ errors resulted in it owing millions of dollars that it should not have to pay. The defendants sought to dismiss the case under the Texas Citizens Participation Act, Texas’ anti-SLAPP statute. The San Antonio Court of Appeals ruled that the plaintiffs had provided sufficient evidence supporting each element of its claims. The Court of Appeals held that the lawsuit can continue.
