Marshall Campbell is a commercial litigator whose clients have ranged from Fortune 100 corporations to individuals in all types of legal disputes, including labor and employment, higher education law, personal injury, construction, insurance coverage, professional malpractice, class action claims, and contract and business disputes. Most recently, he has focused his work in the area of labor and employment-related matters and is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources and Title IX sexual misconduct investigator. He is licensed to practice in Texas and West Virginia. Mr. Campbell was previously a partner with the former Houston law firm Schwartz, Junell, Campbell & Oathout, LLP.
Mr. Campbell graduated from the University of Texas in 1983 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and obtained his law degree in 1986 from the University of Houston. He has taught numerous legal courses including Business Law, Legal Concepts in Accounting, Legal Ethics, Constitutional Law, Communication Law, Legal Research and Writing, and Trial Advocacy, with the mock trial teams that he coached placing first, second, or third in various national competitions.
From 2007 to 2023, Mr. Campbell focused his work in issues involving higher education and school-related matters, most recently as the Vice President of Human Resources at Brazosport College in Lake Jackson, Texas. He has managed employee relations and grievances, payroll, policies and procedures, ADA and FMLA issues, FERPA and HIPAA compliance issues, Clery Act issues, public information requests, affirmative action and equal employment initiatives, terminations, and state and federal reporting responsibilities. During his higher education career, he created and supervised a police department, chaired a college’s executive council, twice chaired strategic planning initiatives, co-chaired an emergency planning committee, and acted as incident commander for the campus’s COVID-19 response.
Mr. Campbell has many years of pro bono and community involvement, including work with Legal Aid of Texas and Legal Aid of West Virginia, serving as a past board member on his local YMCA and civic associations, as well as on the Teen Court and drug prevention partnership for Mercer County, West Virginia. Since 2014, he has been an active member of the Night Court All-Lawyer Musical Comedy benefiting law-related charities in the Houston area.
